How do I access the FREE eBook while my print text ships?
When you buy a new printed textbook from Cengage.com you will get FREE 14-day access to the eBook while the print book ships. This enables you to get immediate access to the book while we're shipping your print text.
After completing your print purchase, you'll be taken to your Cengage content dashboard where you'll see the eBook listed under ‘My Home’. You'll have access to the eBook for two weeks only.

What is the best way to search for a product on Cengage.com?
For best results, search by ISBN
An ISBN is a 10- or 13-digit number found on the back of a textbook. Instructors often include ISBNs on their course syllabi or within their institution’s learning management system.
Searching by ISBN is the best way to search because it will get you the exact title and edition that you need.
If you don't have the ISBN, try searching by title or author name:
Title search
Enter into the search bar all words in the title you are looking for. Leave out words such as ‘a’, ‘an’ or ‘the’.
When including edition, use numeric values. For example, ‘1st edition’ instead of ‘first edition.’
Author search
Enter all or part of the author name you are looking for.
You do not need to enter a first name, but if there are a lot of books by authors with the same last name, it may help to narrow the results.
You can enter the name in any order such as ‘John Smith’ or ‘Smith John.’ Avoid using a comma.
Keyword search
You can search by keyword but this approach is not recommended as it will likely return a large set of results.
If you want to search by keyword, try a combination of author and keyword. For example, ‘Kearns education.’
To refine your results, use the filtering/sorting options
Filter options include product type and discipline area. Sort options include alphabetical sort (ascending or descending) and copyright year (ascending or descending).
Why am I getting an error when trying to access Cengage.com from my iPhone?
This generally occurs if the Safari browser on your iPhone is set to privacy mode and set to not accept cookies. You will need to update this setting on your iPhone in order to view certain webpages. To update your iPhone settings, follow these steps:
- Go to your iPhone settings
- Choose 'Safari'
- Turn off Private Browsing
- Choose 'Accept Cookies'

How do I access my digital content after purchase?
At the completion of your purchase, you will be taken to your Cengage content dashboard. When you need to access your content again, simply log in to your dashboard.
How can I see a list of the items I've purchased on Cengage.com?
Log in to your dashboard and go to 'My Home' to view your electronic content. If you would like to view a receipt of your purchase/s or check the shipping status of a print text, click on ‘My Orders’.
I live outside of Australia and New Zealand. Can I make purchases on Cengage.com?
Cengage Australia has the distribution rights for the following countries: Australia, New Zealand, Papua Guinea (PNG), and Fiji.

I'm a secondary school student, can I purchase materials on Cengage.com?
Yes, as long as you are at least 13 years of age, you can purchase course materials on Cengage.com. If you are a student under the age of 13 and want to purchase on our site, please contact Customer Support.

How long does it take for a print textbook to ship?
Orders are dispatched from our Sydney warehouse. Delivery times will depend on whether your item/s are currently in stock. Orders received after 5pm AET will commence processing the following working day. The approximate delivery times below include packing and dispatch.

What do I do after I buy my eBook?
Once you have bought your eBook, you will be taken to your Cengage content dashboard. Go to ‘My Home’ and click on the OPEN button listed next to the eBook. Your eBook will open instantly.
Can I access and view my eBook outside of Australia and New Zealand?
Yes! We support eBook access internationally. Use login.cengage.com while you are overseas to access your Cengage content dashboard – you'll see your eBook listed under ‘My Home’.
Why are some images not in the eBook?
Digital content is functionally equivalent to the print textbook. In some cases, individual items have been removed for web delivery due to digital rights and restrictions.
Can I purchase my eBook outside of Australia and New Zealand?
If you are taking a class abroad and need to purchase an eBook for a course with your Australian or New Zealand learning institution please contact Customer Support.
Can I access my digital content on more than one computer?
Yes, you can access your content on up to two computers and two mobile devices.
How long can I access my eBook?
You will be able to access your eBook for the access length indicated at the time of purchase.
The digital product I purchased has expired. Can I renew my subscription to gain access again?
Yes. To access an expired product, log in to your Cengage dashboard and go to 'My Home'. Next to the 'My Courses & Materials' header you will see a 'View Expired' link. Click on the link to see all of your expired materials. Click on the 'Renew' button next to the product you want to extend access to.
How do I copy and paste text from an eBook from my desktop or laptop computer?
PC: Select the text you wish to copy, right-click the selected text, choose Copy, click in the document where you wish to paste, right-click, and select Paste. The pasted text will include an attribution to the source content.
Mac: Select the text you wish to copy, press Command + C, click in the document where you wish to paste, then click Command + V. The pasted text will include an attribution to the source content.
Can I view my eBook offline?
Get offline access by downloading the Cengage Mobile app. Log in using your Cengage account details and select the eBook you wish to download from the eBook Library.

What is a printed access card and/or instant access code?
An access code lets you register a Cengage digital learning resource. You can purchase an instant access code on Cengage.com
Printed access cards come packaged with new, printed textbooks. Please note that not all textbooks come packaged with a printed access card.
I purchased an eBook at my bookstore. How do I access it?
If you purchased a new printed textbook that came packaged with a printed access card, follow the instructions provided to register your product. Once you complete the process, you'll be able to access your eBook via your Cengage content dashboard. You'll see the eBook listed under ‘My Home’.
How do I register a printed access card or instant access code?
To register an access code, please head to our student registration page.
What is a course key and/or course link?
Course keys and course links allow you to access your specific course content on MindTap or OWLv2
A course key is a 12- or 15-digit string of numbers that looks something like this: MTPP2K9NB3LD
A course link is a URL that looks something like this: https://login.cengagebrain.com/course/MTPP2K9NB3LD
Your instructor will provide you with the correct key or link for your course.
How do I unlock WebAssign?
To access the specific materials you need in WebAssign for your course, you need a class key. Your instructor will provide you with the correct class key for your course. Register your class key at Webassign.net
How do I unlock SAM?
To access SAM you need an 18-digit key code that identifies the specific materials you need to access for your course. You can purchase a key code at Cengage.com, or packaged with your print textbook.
